Ivan Kavrukov and Richard Milner obtained three U.S. Patents for Yale University's David Gelernter and Eric Freemen, which Mirror Worlds, LLC successfully enforced in a jury trial against Apple, Inc.  On October 1, 2010, a jury in the Eastern District of Texas found all three patents valid and infringed by Apple and awarded Mirror World $208.5 million in damages for each patent, totaling more than $625 million.  Ivan Kavrukov also is defending the patents in a reexamination proceeding before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which Apple had requested as an adjunct to the infringement action.
