ENFORCING THE UNIVERSITY'S BREAKTHROUGH PATENT
August 01, 2004
In 2004, Cooper & Dunham attorneys successfully represented Columbia University in enforcing the university’s patent relating to a breakthrough glaucoma therapy against Par Pharmaceutical, Inc., a manufacturer of generic drugs. After several years of litigation in United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, they were able to both successfully defend the validity of the university’s patent as well as prevent Par from manufacturing or selling a generic equivalent.
