William E. Pelton was born in Washington, D.C. in 1941. He was educated at Syracuse University where he received his B.S. degree in physics and LL.B. degrees. He is admitted to the New York State Bar, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second, Fifth, Seventh, and Federal Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Pelton is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He deals primarily with patent litigation in the electrical arts, including computers, video imaging and GPS. He is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York and has served on its Patent Committee and its Ethics Committee. He servedĀ  as a Member on the Committee on Professional Discipline of the New York State Bar Association from 1977-1984. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Federal Circuit Bar Association and the Federation Internationale Des Conseils En Propriete Industrielle (FICPI). Mr. Pelton has lectured to lawyers at the Practicing Law Institute and is a contributor to the Patent Litigation Strategies Handbook, published by BNA for the ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law; he is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Syracuse University College of Law.
