Philip Alford was born in Northampton, MA in 1982. He earned a B.A. in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Connecticut College in 2005 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Dartmouth College in 2010. His graduate research focused on novel methods in heterocyclic chemistry and the synthesis of pharmacologically relevant structures. Dr. Alford is active as a scientific reviewer on the editorial boards of several journals and has a written a number of book chapters on heterocyclic chemistry. Dr. Alford is a member of the American Chemical Society and the International Society of Heterocyclic Chemistry.
