Raymond Chung was born in Tampa, Florida in 1977 and raised in southern New Jersey. He earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 1999 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Yale University in 2005. Dr. Chung continued his research as a postdoctoral research associate in the department of pharmacology at the Yale School of Medicine working on the design and synthesis of bifunctional inhibitors of HIV reverse transcriptase. His research encompasses the areas of synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. Dr. Chung is a former patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is currently a registered patent agent. Dr. Chung is fluent in Cantonese.
