James primarily focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling, particularly in the areas of chemistry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. James has extensive experience drafting patent applications and managing patent applications and portfolios in the United States and in foreign countries. James also has experience performing prior art searches, preparing freedom to operate reviews, prosecuting reissue applications and prosecuting supplemental protection certificates. James has worked with a variety of different clients including individuals, corporations, start-up ventures, and university research centers.
